Pondicherry (Mini France in India )
Pondicherry- Home to Diverse Cultures and Heritage
Located on the southern coastline of India and shares its land with the gigantic Arabian sea. Beach Island with sports recreation, temples, and ashrams for your yogic bliss and lips-smacking seafood you have it all here.
Tourists are from all rounds of society, young couples tend to favor the beaches and goof, on cheap liquor owing to the low taxes. French Colonies is considered to be the most instagrammable place in the city. I got one as well!
Boomers usually spend most of their time meditating and seeking mindfulness through yoga. The Auroville and Aurobindo Ashram have the majority of footfalls for these visitors.
Portuguese and Frenchmen still dwell in some parts of the city but are not the majority anymore. It is their cafes, colonies, and heritage houses that still make it a beautiful spot with a touch of French culture.
Rocky Beach resembles the famous marine drive with no automobile movement. The shores of the sea lead you to a different world altogether.
Reaching Paradise Beach is an amazing jetty ride through the Chunnambar backwaters. It is one of the cleanest beaches in the country with great amenities and fun-filling sports activities like Jet Skiing etc. I could relate to the scenes of the romance cult movie 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' stuck on a small island with your soulmate. Early morning would be the best time to drench yourself in the serene waters.
Coming to my favorite part of any travel, Food. The place would serve you amazing cafes which are famous for their traditional pizzas and hosts fresh seafood at ultra-low prices when compared to the city.
So why wait? Add Pondicherry to your next destination list!
